CONTENTS:
During the 8 sessions of this workshop, we will talk about ways in which elements of the Pikler Pedagogical Approach may be incorporated into programs offered to parents with infants and toddlers. Each pair of sessions will have one of the below topics as its focal point, during which we will discuss how to best support parents in discovering:
the importance of free movement and gross motor development at children’s own pace
the role of exploration and the autonomous development of play activities
the social skills and the inclination of the youngest to cooperate
the significance of observation in supporting the development of children aged 0-3.
Structure of each pair of sessions (2x3 hours, with short breaks):
Specifics of the Pikler Approach
Pedagogy and Best Practices in the Pikler House’s Parent-Child Groups
