Liz Hagerman, Certified Pikler Professional
Liz began her Pikler studies in 2007 when a colleague told her "If you want to work with babies you need to go to Budapest" which she promptly did. Dr Pikler's insights found a home in Liz's heart and mind ever since. She completed the Pikler Pedagogue training in April of 2023 and believes that learning Pikler is a 'learning in the marrow bone" --a learning through experience, not just theory. she is deeply grateful to all her Pikler teachers and fellow cohort members. Currently Liz is a psychotherapist using child led play therapy with children and their parents in Washington DC. Previous to that, for 19 years, she was a Waldorf early childhood--Birth to Three teacher. She developed a Parent infant and toddler program based on Pikler principles in 3 Waldorf schools in the DC area. Liz is on the board of Pikler-Lóczy USA (PLUSA) and the faculty of Sophia's Hearth birth to three teacher training program. Liz loves to be in nature, has two grown sons, and in the summers (when not in Budapest) was a commercial salmon fisher in Alaska with her husband and sons for many years.
